Buylist FAQ – How to Sell Your Cards

Selling your cards to Komodo Collectibles is simple. Use our online Buylist to select the cards you'd like to sell, submit your order, and ship the cards to us. Once they arrive, we'll verify the cards and issue your payment.

Here’s how the process works from start to finish.

1. Find the Cards You Want to Sell

Head to our Buylist and select the game you would like to sell.

Search for your cards by name and make sure you select the correct set, printing, rarity, and version. Once you've found the correct card, enter the quantity you'd like to sell and add it to your Buylist.

You can continue adding cards until you're ready to submit.

Please double-check your cards before submitting. Alternate arts, promotional versions, foils, reprints, and different rarities can have different buy prices even when they share the same card name.

If a card isn't currently listed on our Buylist, we're not actively purchasing that card at this time unless it qualifies for one of our listed bulk rates.

2. Review Your Buylist

Once you've finished adding cards, review your Buylist before submitting it.

Make sure:

  • The cards on your Buylist match the cards you're sending.
  • The correct versions and printings have been selected.
  • The quantities are accurate.
  • You have selected your preferred payment method.

The total shown when you submit your Buylist is an estimated offer based on the cards and quantities submitted. Your final payout is determined after the physical cards have been received and inspected.

3. Submit Your Buylist

When everything looks correct, complete the checkout process to submit your Buylist.

After submitting, you'll receive a confirmation containing your Buylist information.

Please keep your Buylist/order number, as we'll use it to identify your submission when it arrives.

Submitting a Buylist reserves the listed offer for your submission, subject to verification of the cards received and our Buylist terms.

4. Prepare Your Cards

Before packing your cards, please organize them in the same order they appear on your submitted Buylist.

Keeping cards in order allows us to process your submission significantly faster and helps prevent mistakes during verification.

Please remove cards from:

  • Binders
  • Binder pages
  • Deck sleeves
  • Excessive individual packaging

High-value cards may be individually sleeved or otherwise protected where appropriate.

Please do not use rubber bands around cards. Rubber bands can damage card edges and surfaces.

If you're sending a large number of cards, you may separate them into multiple secured stacks. Please keep the stacks clearly ordered.

5. Pack Your Cards Securely

You are responsible for making sure your cards are adequately protected during shipping.

Cards should be packed tightly enough that they cannot freely move around inside the package, while avoiding excessive pressure that could bend or damage them.

For smaller submissions, a team bag or similar protective bag inside a bubble mailer may be appropriate.

For larger submissions, we recommend using an appropriately sized cardboard box with the cards secured inside.

Please include your:

Name
Buylist/order number

inside the package.

Packaging materials sent with your Buylist should be considered disposable and may not be returned.

6. Ship Your Buylist

Ship your package to the Buylist shipping address provided by Komodo Collectibles.

We strongly recommend using a tracked shipping service, particularly for higher-value submissions.

While the customer is responsible for the cost of shipping cards to Komodo Collectibles, a refund of up to $10 is applied with a provided shipping receipt.

Komodo Collectibles cannot assume responsibility for packages that are lost, stolen, or damaged before they are delivered to us. If your submission is valuable, we recommend purchasing appropriate tracking and insurance from your carrier.

Keep your tracking number until your Buylist has been received and processed.

What Happens After My Cards Arrive?

Once your package arrives, we'll match it to your submitted Buylist and begin verifying the contents.

We'll check:

  • Card identity
  • Set and printing
  • Rarity/version
  • Quantity
  • Condition

If everything matches your submission, we'll approve the Buylist and move forward with payment.

How Is Card Condition Determined?

All cards are inspected after they arrive.

The condition you select or expect when submitting your Buylist is an estimate. Final condition is determined by Komodo Collectibles during inspection.

Cards with noticeable wear, scratches, dents, creases, edge damage, surface damage, water damage, or other defects may receive a reduced offer or may be declined entirely.

Manufacturing defects may also affect the condition assessment depending on their severity.

Why Did My Final Total Change?

Your final payout may differ from the original Buylist estimate if the cards we receive don't exactly match the submission.

Common reasons include:

  • A card is in a different condition than expected.
  • The wrong set or printing was submitted.
  • A foil was submitted instead of a non-foil, or vice versa.
  • The wrong rarity or alternate-art version was selected.
  • The quantity received doesn't match the quantity submitted.
  • A card is missing.
  • A card is damaged beyond the condition we currently accept.

If an adjustment is required, the final Buylist total will reflect the cards we actually received and their assessed condition.

What Happens If I Send the Wrong Card?

If a card doesn't match the version listed on your Buylist, we'll assess the card that was actually received.

If we're currently purchasing that version, we may adjust the offer accordingly.

If we're not currently purchasing it, the card may be declined.

Please take a moment to verify set codes, collector numbers, rarities, foil treatments, and alternate-art versions before shipping your submission.

Can I Send Cards That Aren't on My Buylist?

Please only send cards that are included in your submitted Buylist unless they qualify for a specific bulk category we're currently accepting.

Unlisted cards may not be purchased or individually processed.

Can I Send Multiple Buylists in One Package?

Yes. Multiple Buylist submissions may be shipped together as long as each submission is clearly separated and identifiable.

Include all applicable Buylist/order numbers inside the package and keep the cards for each Buylist separated and in their respective Buylist order.

How Long Does Processing Take?

Processing begins after your package has been delivered to us.

Most submissions are processed as quickly as possible, but processing times can vary depending on submission size and current Buylist volume.

Large submissions or submissions containing cards that require additional verification may take longer.

When Will I Get Paid?

Payment is issued after your Buylist has been received, inspected, and finalized.

Your payout will be sent using the payment method selected when submitting your Buylist.

If you selected store credit, the applicable credit amount will be issued to your account once processing is complete.

Are Buylist Prices Guaranteed?

Buylist prices are based on current market conditions, inventory needs, and demand.

The offer shown when you submit your Buylist applies to the specific cards, versions, quantities, and expected conditions included in that submission.

If the cards received differ from what was submitted, the offer may be adjusted.

Buylist prices can change over time as market prices and our inventory needs change.

Do I Have to Pay for Shipping?

Yes. Customers are responsible for shipping their cards to Komodo Collectibles.

Because you're choosing the carrier and shipping service, we recommend selecting a service appropriate for the value of your submission.

Tracking is strongly recommended.

What If My Package Is Lost or Damaged?

Once you've handed your package to the shipping carrier, the shipment remains your responsibility until it is successfully delivered to Komodo Collectibles.

We strongly recommend tracked shipping and appropriate insurance for valuable submissions.

If a package is lost or damaged during transit, you will need to contact the shipping carrier regarding any available claim.

What Happens to Cards You Don't Accept?

Cards that don't meet our Buylist requirements or that we're unable to purchase may be excluded from your final offer.

Please carefully review your submission before shipping to minimize declined cards.

Depending on the circumstances, return shipping for declined cards may be the responsibility of the customer.

Can Komodo Collectibles Decline a Buylist?

Yes.

We reserve the right to decline individual cards or an entire Buylist in cases including, but not limited to:

  • Significant discrepancies between the submitted Buylist and cards received
  • Counterfeit or altered cards
  • Excessively damaged cards
  • Incorrect versions or quantities
  • Cards we are no longer purchasing
  • Submissions that don't follow our Buylist requirements
